Create a draft quote from a Studio design

Review a saved design's priced work, then create an unsent quote draft for office review.

Review the saved design

Open a saved Studio design for the intended property. Save pending changes first and assign assemblies to the work you want priced. Review the Design outline for the complete takeoff; the Plants outline omits walkways, and Present is a presentation view rather than the editing outline.

Check the Price panel for measured lines, assembly assignments, total, and any findings that block a quote. An estimate for an unsaved design is not the saved quote total.

Create and review the draft

When the saved design is priced and has no blocking findings, choose Create draft quote. Review the quote in Quotes and confirm it is marked Draft, its option label names the source revision, and its measured lines and total match the saved design.

Creating or reopening this draft does not send a proposal, ask for a signature, create a project, or collect payment.

Offer saved designs as choices

To offer alternatives, save two or three complete designs for the same property. Price each design, compare the selected revisions and line changes, enter a customer-facing name for each choice, and create the draft quote. Review the resulting options in Quotes before sending. The customer can compare choices in the portal after the office sends the proposal; that send and acceptance journey is covered separately.

If the quote action is unavailable

The action can be unavailable while the drawing has unsaved changes, no saved revision or price, unpriced work, or findings that block a quote. Save the design, resolve the Price panel's readiness findings, and check the saved revision before trying again.
